Research Ethics Review Board(RERB)
Overview
The RERB is a subcommittee of IMCLS responsible for reviewing and approving all research conducted in the Mishmi Hills. To guide this process, the Idu Mishmi Code of Research Ethics was developed to ensure that all research respects community values and ethical standards.
Background
Research in the Mishmi Hills has increased in areas like biological resources, conservation, culture, and tourism, sometimes conducted without prior consent from the community. With growing interactions with NGOs, government bodies, and research institutions, there is a need to safeguard local interests. The Idu Mishmi Code of Research Ethics (IMCRE) provides guidelines to ensure research respects the community while promoting collaboration and engagement with researchers.
